Stained glass art is assembled with solder that contains a small amount of lead. Even though each piece is sealed upon completion, I suggest washing your hands with soap and warm water after cleaning/handling any stained glass piece.

From time to time, the solder on your piece will oxidize and leave a whitish substance on its surface. To remove this substance, gently wipe your piece with a brush or a non-abrasive scrubber. Do not use chemical cleaners, such as Windex, on any piece of stained glass. Displaying your stained glass piece outdoors will significantly increase the chances of oxidization. In this case, I highly recommend cleaning and waxing your piece yearly (any car wax with CARNUBA can be used).

When possible, avoid using suction cups to hang stained glass artwork. Instead, I suggest hanging your piece from a curtain rod, or a nail/screw in the window frame.
